PASIG CITY, Metro Manila - January is the month of the year when the Philippines' most grandest festivals are held to honor the Santo Niño, the Holy Child Jesus. The City of Pasig kicked-off this year's Bambino Festival on January 11, 2013 with the opening of the Sto. Niño Exhibit in the Pasig City Museum.

The exhibit features Sto. Niño images from various private collectors and devotees from Pasig, including replicas of the Sto. Niño de Cebu owned by the family of Congressman Roman Romulo. The exhibit will run from January 11 to January 19, 2013.

Other events scheduled for this year's Bambino Festival include children's concerts, public film showings, a mass baptism, a poetry competition, and a children's olympics.

Highlight of the festival is the Grand Bambino Festival Parade featuring 16 Sto. Niño images from the 15 parishes of the Diocee of Pasig and the image of the Sto. Niño de Pasig.

The first Bambino Festival was held in January 2002. The festival got its name from the Italian word bambino which translates to child in English.
