New Restaurant in Baguio: Patch Cafe

Patch Cafe is a newly opened cafe serving all day breakfast, sandwiches, pasta, pizza, pastries and coffee located at the ground floor of Bloomfield Hotel along Leonard Wood Road, Baguio City. Replacing the former Cafe Sorelle, it features a more spacious and vibrant interior.

Bloomfield Hotel's lobby was also redecorated to match the colorful and artsy interior of Patch Cafe. Together with its launching last November 2014, the hotel's in-house restaurant also introduced a fresher and more exciting menu. Why is it called Patch Cafe? It is basically named after the owner.

We arrived in Baguio City at 8:00am on time for breakfast. I had the Brunch Sampler (P190.00) which includes slices of longganisa, a small serving of carabao or beef tapa, several pieces of danggit, 2 sunny side eggs, garlic rice, pancake and salad. The tapa was semi-sweet while the longganisa was garlicky, just the way I like them, especially with vinegar. The danggit was crispy and perfect with the garlic rice. The sunny side eggs were cooked perfectly. The pancake was just ordinary though. An order of extra garlic rice instantly made me a very satisfied customer.

Edgar ordered the CPA short cut for Chicken Pork Adobo (P190.00) which is basically garlic rice served with shredded chicken adobo and soft pork belly adobo. The chicken was perfectly seasoned while the pork was really tender. We find it a bit pricey having the same price as the Brunch Sampler. This dish could have been better if it were served with at least a sunny side egg. I gave Edgar one of my sunny side eggs which gave him a smile on his face.

For drinks, Edgar had the Patch Iced Tea (P45.00) while I had an cup of Brewed Coffee (P35.00).

We also tried their White Chocolate and Strawberry Cheesecake (P55.00) for dessert. It was fairly good, just the right sweetness and sourness from the cream cheese, but nothing really spectacular about it. For P55.00 we are not complaining.

Overall, we enjoyed having breakfast here at Patch Cafe. We loved our Filipino breakfast meals. We'd like to try their other offerings too, especially their pasta and pizza. We are also impressed by the cafe's interior. Congratulations Bloomfield Hotel for your new in house restaurant. We are seeing Patch Cafe as a new dining destination in Baguio. We're looking forward to dining here again.
