Rice & Dough Sushi and Pizza Bar | Venice Grand Canal Mall

Rice & Dough Sushi and Pizza Bar is a newly opened casual dining restaurant at McKinley Hill's Venice Grand Canal Mall in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. The restaurant specializes in modern sushi flavors and specialty pizzas, combining Japanese and Italian comfort food under one roof.

The restaurant has a very contemporary design with high ceiling, white walls, geometric tiles, wooden tables, black chairs and stylish couches. With its floor to ceiling glass walls, dining guests enjoy a view of the Ponte d'Amore (bridge of love) and the gondolas navigating the waters of the Grand Canal.

Rice & Dough's menu is divided into eight sections: Appetizers, Soups & Salads, Pasta, Sushi, Pizza, Mains, Breakfast, and Drinks. Each menu section has a good mix of chicken, beef, fish and vegetarian variants. There are also dishes which are labeled Kid Friendly. But what you should look out for are their Best-sellers, which we sampled during a pre-opening food tasting event at the restaurant. Here are some of the dishes we tried:


Crispy Nori Chicken Wings (P294.95) - crispy coated nori chicken wings served with honey mustard

Parmecorn on a Cob (P138.95) - grilled buttered corn on a cob coated with cayenne parmesan cheese served with cheese dip, can also be served off the cob

Prosciutto Focaccia (P349.95) - focaccia dough filled with prosciutto, mozzarella cheese and tomatoes


Perfect Catch (P339.95) - raw salmon and cream cheese rolled over panko crumbs, golden fried, topped with bonito flakes and unagi aioli cream

Truffled Bacon Cheeseburger Sushi (P449.95) - truffled bacon cheeseburger with slice of mango and alfalfa sprouts, in between sushi rice, drizzled with truffle oil

World War Roll (P399.95) - soft-shell crab, kani, tamago, unagi, and tuna rool topped with unagi aioli cream and battered shrimp togarashi, served flaming!!! (see top photo)


Tartufata (P459.95) - bacon, bell peppers, parmesan cheese and truffle oil

Funghi (P479.95) - shiitake and button mushrooms, gorgonzola cheese

Prosciuttina (P415.95) - prosciutto, bell peppers, brie


Grilled Salt & Pepper Meltique Ribeye Steak with Beans and Carrots (P879.95) - cooked to your specified doneness in a stone grill right at your table, served with a choice of Italian Parsley Rice or Rissotto

Rice & Dough is also offering DIY Sushi (P495.95) & DIY Pizza (P495.95), a first of its kind in the Philippines. The idea is to allow customers to select their own ingredients for their sushi or pizza. Choices of ingredients are listed on the DIY sheet which you can ask from the servers.

DIY Sushi: New York Maki
During our visit, tried the DIY Sushi and created what we called the New York Maki, a meaty, creamy sushi with a well balanced flavor and a light nutty finish. It became an instant hit to our blogger friends and even to the owners of Rice & Dough.
