Piña Mania | the Pineapple Takes Center Stage this August at Marco Polo Ortigas Manila's Cucina Restaurant

Pineapple is one of the most versatile tropical fruits. It can be consumed fresh, used as an ingredient in cooking, its juice can be turned into a refreshing drink or mixed in a cocktail, and it can also be preserved in cans or dried as a snack. This fruit is also packed with nutrients such as Vitamin C and Manganese. And here in the Philippines, we have lots of pineapples, we are in fact one of the biggest pineapple producing nations in the world.

This August, the Marco Polo Ortigas Manila pays tribute to this celebrated fruit through the Piña Mania set menu. For starter, the chefs at Cucina Restaurant combines the freshest ingredients from our seas and farms in an appetizing Grilled Tiger Prawns with Pineapple-Mango Salad and Tamarind Vinaigrette Dressing.

Crispy Pata stuffed with Foie Gras amd served with Pineapple Salsa
For the main course, indulge with the Crispy Pata, a Filipino favorite given a different twist. The pork leg is deboned and stuffed it with foie gras and herbs. It is then fried until crispy, sliced and served with pineapple salsa on the side.

Finally for dessert is the Pineapple Tamale, made of a pastry crust filled with cooked glutinous rice mixed with sweet pineapple filling and nuts, and served with mango custard and minted coconut jelly on the side.
