Mirèio Restaurant at Raffles Makati

Mirèio is the newly opened Provençal-inspired brasserie of Raffles Makati, serving simple dishes made with fresh ingredients while combining classic and modern French cooking techniques, and with strong emphasis on presentation. We announced through metrostaycation.com the opening of Mirèio back in December 2016, and since then, we have revisited the restaurant several times already and it has become our go-to place in Metro Manila for authentic French dining.

BREAKFAST - Petit Déjeuner

When we had our second Christmas Staycation at Raffles Makati, we were able to enjoy our complimentary deluxe continental buffet breakfast at Mirèio. The continental buffet spread features premium items of breads and viennoiserie, cheeses and charcuterie. Selection of cereals, muesli, fresh and dried fruits, nuts and yogurts are extensive.

In addition to the continental buffet, the complimentary breakfast also includes a single order of an a la carte dish ranging from Parisian Omelets to Eggs Benedict, French Toasts to Crepes and Pancakes, and from Japanese Pan-seared Salmon to Filipino Beef Tapa. Guests also get to choose from their tea selection, as well as espresso-based beverages, hot chocolate or matcha latte.

SET LUNCH - Menu Déjeuner

When I spent a week in Paris for a business trip, I noticed that restaurants and brasseries in Paris have what they call Formules de Midi on their menu. Back in February, Mireio rolled out a similar concept called Menu Dejeuner. These are basically 2-course or 3-course set lunches which include an appetizer, a main course and a dessert, plus coffee or tea.

A la carte dishes are generally served in portions that are good for sharing, thus having a set lunch makes more sense for individuals who wish to have a complete meal. Set lunches also make it easier for dining guests to choose dishes. The selection of dishes in the Menu Dejeuner changes every month and are priced at P988++ for a 2-course meal (main course and choice of appetizer or dessert) and P1,100++ for the full 3-course meal.

BRUNCH - Week-end en Provence

Lazy weekends mean longer time in bed and skipping breakfasts. Thankfully there's brunch! While this dining concept originated from Britain, this weekend dining lifestyle spread through out the globe into the US, Europe and even here in the Philippines. In Paris and other major cities in France, a lot of restaurants and hotels are now offering these weekend brunches mainly to the younger generations and to tourists.

Here at Mireio, they combined the concept of Brunch with the sophistication of Provençal cuisine through their Weekend in Provence brunch offering. Priced at P1,980 per person, the meal starts with complimentary bread and butter and a buffet of premium French cheeses. Appetizers of Mahi-Mahi Gravlax, Nicoise Salad and Homemade Terrine will immediately follow.

You are then served with your choice of Egg Benedictine or Scrambled Eggs. For your main course, you can choose one dish among Clams Mariniere, Roasted Chicken, Oxatail Parmentier, Grilled Tuna, or Mackerel Fillet. Finally, a buffet of desserts await guests with choices of tarts, cakes, cream puff, mille crepe, mille feuille, pannacotta, mousses, rocher and macaron.

MIREIO TERRACE - Cocktails with a View

Mireio Terrace is the roofdeck bar and lounge of Mireio Restaurant. Although it's an integral part of the restaurant, it is a separate world on its own. It has its own cocktails and barchow menu. The vibe is also entirely different. Since it opened in December 2016, Mireio Terrace has become a destination on its own, most especially because of the view.

The last time we visited the place was in April when we had some cocktails to celebrate my birthday. We notice that many hotel guests spend their afternoon here enjoying some drinks and tapas as they await the sunset. Our favorite drink has always been the 1947 (Remy Martin VSOP, Don Papa Rum, Lemon & Berry Mix).

Barely six months young, Mirèio has already established itself as a French dining destination in Makati, thanks to the superb creations by Chef Nicolas Cegretin and to the outstanding customer service of the team headed by M. Nicolas Braqc. Congratulations Mireio and Raffles Makati!
