World Renowned Filipino Icons Feted At Capitol Commons

For its Festival of World Class Filipinos in Capitol Commons, Ortigas & Company will feature acclaimed artists such as Kenneth Cobonpue in a series of free exhibits and shows that are open to the public.

In celebration of its 82nd anniversary and the launch of their most recent masterpiece – Capitol Commons, premiere property developer Ortigas & Company brings world-class Filipino acts back to the local stage with the month-long Festival of World Class Filipinos at Capitol Commons. From May 25 to June 15, each Saturday will feature Filipino artists who have received international acclaim for their talents.

On June 1, an art exhibit will showcase Filipino paintings and sculptures. The artwork will range from traditional subjects and forms to modern, statement pieces.

The Home Experts will take the stage on June 8. Starting 6pm, chefs Claude Tayag and Vicky Pacheco will reveal what makes them kitchen superstars with a special demo. An exhibit of beautifully designed contemporary Filipino furniture by Kenneth Cobonpue will also be on display.

To cap off the festivities, models will be walking down the catwalk clad in fashion’s hottest names. The show on June 15 will feature Michael Cinco, Amina Aranaz, Herbert Custodio, Roel Rosal and Albert Andrada.

Mercato Centrale will organize a food market featuring different gustatory delights. All events are free and open to the public.

Capitol Commons is the newest urban destination in the southern part of Ortigas Center. Located at Meralco Avenue corner Shaw Boulevard, Capitol Commons stands at the former site of the Rizal Provincial Capitol. It can be accessed via Shaw Boulevard, and via Capt. H. Javier Street near ULTRA and Valle Verde Country Club.

The 10-hectare mixed-used development will feature posh retail establishments, state-of-the-art office spaces, modern living units, and a full range of amenities. Fifty percent of the development’s total area will be dedicated to wide, open spaces, making it an ideal destination for relaxation and enjoyment.
