Zenz Restaurant at Mines View Park Hotel

Zenz Bar & Restaurant is a fine dining restaurant in Mines View Park Hotel, Baguio City serving  Asian, Western and Continental dishes and is famous for its creative recreations of classic Filipino dishes showcasing the freshest vegetables and fruits available in Baguio City.

Strawberries have been the star of our lunch at Zenz Restaurant, from the main dishes to the desserts, Baguio City's number one fruit was used as an ingredient.

Pork Sinigang with Strawberries

Zenz Restaurant's version of pork sinigang uses vegetables most abundant in Baguio like baguio beans (instead of sitaw) and petchay baguio (instead of kangkong). Highlight of their pork sinigang is the use of whole strawberries as vegetable ingredient. This is their way of showcasing the agricultural products of Baguio. The sweet-sour taste of strawberries added flavor to the sour tamarind soup base of the sinigang. The strawberries also added color to the dish making it look more appetizing. The strawberries are a good match to the crunchy baguio beans and tender petchay baguio. When you bit into the strawberries, it releases the sweet and sour fruity juices that perfectly complements and balances the taste of the tamarind soup. This dish is definitely a must-try when visiting Baguio.

Chicken & Pork Adobo with Strawberries

Zenz Restaurant also made a creative and equally colorful twist to the all time Filipino favorite adobo. Consistent to the restaurant's advocacy, they added fried potato wedges into this adobo dish to highlight the root crop as one of the top produce of Baguio City. Then they added their signature ingredient, the strawberries. Like in the sinigang, the strawberries also added sweet and sour flavors to their adobo. The combination of the salty adobo sauce and sweet and sour strawberry fruits resulted into a well balanced flavor. The usually dull and boring color of the adobo was also given life by the bright red strawberries. It is yet another reason for you to visit Baguio.

Bibingcrisp with Berry Strawberry Ice Cream

We thought the strawberry madness ended with the sinigang and the adobo, but we were mistake! When the desserts came, and we saw this pink colored ice cream, we know it was strawberry ice cream. Zenz Restaurant offers this very unique twist to the French crepe, the bibingcrisp. It tastes like Belgian waffles, but as thin as French crepes, only it's crispy. What made it even better was the berry strawberry ice cream served as the bibingcrisp's topping. The creamy home-made strawberry ice cream with chunks of strawberry in it plus the crunchy bibingcrisp are a match made in strawberry heaven.
