Luzviminda 2014: F1 Hotel Manila's Tribute to Filipino Cuisine

Following its huge success in 2013, F1 Hotel Manila is once again bringing together the flavors of the three major regions of the Philippines through its Luzviminda 2 buffet which will be running from June 12-26, 2014. Joining F1 Hotel Manila's Executive Chef Sau del Rosario are guest chefs Tristan Encarnacio representing Luzon, Editha Singian representing Visayas, and Victor Parangan representing Mindanao.

This year's theme is Luzviminda 2 Where Food Meets Art showcasing Filipino talent through paintings. On display at the lobby of F Restaurant are art works renowned Filipino artists. All paintings are for sale and proceeds will be donated to the Kythe Foundation, a non-stock, non-profit organization that provides psychosocial care to children with chronic illness, particularly those with cancer.

Last June 11-12, 2014, we were privileged to be invited by F1 Hotel Manila for the opening of Luzviminda 2014 and an overnight staycation at the hotel. Here are some of the dishes we had for dinner and lunch.

Appetizers: Batac Empanada (Luzon), Pancit Molo (Visayas), Malagos Cheese (Mindanao)

Cold Dishes:  Prawns, Mussels, Oysters, Ensaladang Lato, Seared Tuna, Maya-Maya Mayonesa

Desserts: Mangosteen Parfait, Durian Panna Cotta

During the two-day event, we were checked-in at a Fort Suite, F1 Hotel Manila's highest room category. It is a one-bedroom suite with a living area, dining area, and a separate bedroom. The ensuite bathroom is attached to the bedroom.

The bedroom is very spacious with a king size bed, a cabinet, and a work station. It has its own air-conditioning unit and a cable-ready LCD television. The design is very contemporary yet elegant.

The living area is equally spacious with a sofa, a center-table and a cable-ready LCD television. Next to it is the dining area and a small pantry where guests can prepare coffee. There's also a mini refrigerator where guests can keep beverage cold.

The ensuite bathroom is super clean and has very modern fixtures. The heated shower has very strong water pressure flowing through the rain shower head. The toilette is also equipped with a bidet.

This has been our second time to stay at F1 Hotel Manila and every year, the experience is getting better and better. Do check out our first Staycation at F1 Hotel last May 2013. We are looking forward to joining F1 Hotel Manila again next year for Luzviminda 2015.
