Purple Fountain Courtyard Inn, Puerto Princesa City

Purple Fountain Courtyard Inn is a 10-room inn located just 500 meters (5 minutes) away from the Puerto Princesa International Airport. It was awarded by TripAdvisor.com with the Traveler’s Choice Award for 2015 and was included in the Top 25 B&Bs and Inns in the Philippines.

My friend and I were impressed by the interiors of the place. Walls were painted with shades of purple, green, blue and pink. The lobby was decorated with ceramic pieces and beautiful paintings. They have a small play area with a slide, toy cars and a seesaw.

You can rest on their benches or stroll under the trees while enjoying the chirping of the birds and the smell of fresh air. You can also rest on the benches perhaps read a book and relax to the soft sound of the fountain.

We stayed in their Standard Room which is good for two persons and the room rate already includes plated breakfast for two persons. The room can actually accommodate up to four persons since the room has 1 queen-sized bed, 1 single bed and a daybed. An extra person will only pay P600.00 per night which also includes plated breakfast. Kids 10 years and below can stay in the room for free.

The room is air-conditioned and has a cable-ready television inside. Free wifi internet access is also provided. Our bathroom hot and cold shower. Water pressure was consistently strong. Clean towels as well as basic toiletries are also provided. I know my kids would have enjoyed staying here.

Outside our room is a the veranda where guests can eat their breakfast in the morning or spend their lazy afternoon over ice cold drinks or fruit shakes.

They also have a Large Family Suite which can accommodate up to seven (7) persons. The colorful theme of the inn is also reflected to the interior of the suite with colors like yellow, pink, blue, green and orange, as well as photographs and paintings that transform the suite into a life-size dollhouse.

The suite has a queen-size bed, two single beds and a day bed. There's also a kitchenette, a separate toilet and a shower room.

The double ceiling height of the suite gives space for a mezzanine floor that fits two single-size mattresses.

The published room rate is only good for two persons which already includes plated breakfast. The additional person charge of P600.00 will apply to every additional guest staying in the room.

The convenience of having The White Fence Country Café located inside the inn was a blessing. We arrived in Puerto Princesa at exactly lunchtime and we were relieved to find our that that they serve affordable yet tasty meals.

I so love the interior of he restaurant. The warm colors combined with the classy furniture and accents creates a cozy ambiance suitable for intimate dining with friends and family.

Coincidentally, one of our friends is celebrating his birthday that day and he decided to treat the barkada for lunch. We had a great time chatting about our past barkada outings over great food served at the restaurant. We'll tell you more about our experience at White Fence Country Cafe in a separate post.

The service rendered by the staff was incomparable. They make ways to address all your concerns and to accommodate your needs. The following morning, we had to leave early for our Underground River tour and we appreciated it a lot that the staff adjusted to our schedule so that breakfast can be served to us at 5:00am.

There's nothing better to waking up to breakfast of fried rice, bacon, longanisa and eggs, plus a hot cup of coffee. We recommend upgrading your coffee to brewed coffee (for an additional P25.00).

First-timers in Puerto Princesa like me should include the Underground River, Firefly Watching, and the Day Tour of the city in their itinerary. Not to be missed are the Cathedral, the Crocodile Farm, and the Plaza Cuartel, among others. These tours can also be arranged by Purple Fountain Courtyard Inn for you. How convenient is that right?

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Purple Fountain Courtyard Inn. We find it an ideal and budget friendly accommodation for families and barkadas. It's homey design makes you feel right at home with the friendly and hospitable staff adding more to the experience. We will definitely consider staying here again on our next visit to Puerto Princesa, perhaps with my family and kids. I would also recommend Purple Fountain Country Inn to my friends.

  • colorful design of the rooms, clean and well maintained bathroom, strong water pressure
  • the place is quiet, noise from the street is not heard in the room, we had uninterrupted sleep
  • great customer service, staff is very accommodating, they will accommodate your needs if they can, they can also arrange tours for the guess
  • rates are very competitive specially for families and barkadas who are looking for good quality but affordable accommodation in Puerto Princes
Here are some areas of improvement:
  • complimentary bottled water per staying guest would be a great addition, hot and cold water dispenser at the lobby will be a good alternative
  • installing bidet to the toilet will also be an added convenience
