A Dream Wedding Like No Other

Welcome to the month of June. For many Filipinos, June is the month when couples finally tie the knot in a solemn wedding ceremony followed by a wedding reception. Some weddings take months of planning, while some even take years. It is a very special occasion that every bride and groom wish to be nothing less than perfect. A dream wedding.

We received an invitation to attend the wedding of Gino and Cindy to be held at Oakwood Premier Manila in Ortigas Center. We have attended weddings of friends and relatives before, but this time, we attended a wedding of a couple that we would be meeting for the first time.

Sitting in a wedding ceremony not knowing anyone from the attendees was a weird feeling. It was almost like gatecrashing into someone's wedding. Nonetheless, we RSVP'd and attended this wedding which, according to the team from Oakwood Premier Manila, will be a unique wedding event experience.

The wedding started with the matrimonial ceremony held at the Joy Ballroom of Oakwood Premier Manila. Friends and relatives from both sides of Gino and Cindy were there. Also attending the wedding were some member of the press, so we really got intrigued with what's so special about this wedding for it to be worthy of media coverage. Ms. Aleah Alam of Oakwood Premier Manila told us that the story will be revealed at the wedding reception.

After the wedding ceremony, the guests moved from the Joy Ballroom to the Nostalg Ballroom for the wedding reception. Buffet tables were setup on two sides of the ballroom while guests were seated in groups of ten.

The reception started with the traditional slicing of the cake followed by the bride & groom first dance. Principal sponsors and guests then pinned money onto the bride's wedding gown. Guests would occasionally clink their glasses to signal the groom and bride to kiss.

With the groom and bride back on the presidential table, the guests started to queue at the buffet tables. We enjoyed the dishes prepared by Oakwood Premier Manila's Executive Sous Chef Batt Perez. I particularly loved the Chicken Cordon Blue and the Spaghetti al Pesto.

While eating, the host of the reception asked the guests to focus their attention to the audio-visual presentation. The story behind Gino & Cindy's wedding will finally be revealed. Here is the video:

From the video, we learned that Gino & Cindy has long been planning for a simple wedding. In her speech, Cindy shared that Gino and she has been praying every night that someday, she would walk down the aisle and give her hand to Gino. PUSH, she said, which stands for Pray Until Something Happens. God really answers prayers, and when He answers, He really makes Himself heard.

Last year. Gino & Cindy's prayers were answered when they won a Dream Wedding Reception raffled off by Oakwood Premier Manila in a bridal expo. More blessing poured in for Gino & Cindy when more sponsors partnered with Oakwood Premier Manila to create this Dream Wedding like no other. God is really good.
