Amare La Cucina (Kapitolyo)

Amare La Cucina (Kapitolyo) Drick Oven

Amare La Cucina, a popular pizza place in Baguio, recently opened a branch in Kapitolyo, Pasig City. Amare La Cucina specializes in brick-oven baked pizzas and also serves salads, pasta and ribs.

The interior was a lot better than the Baguio branch. It was brighter and felt very spacious inside. I went to Amare La Cucina around 5:00pm. During my visit, I ordered the Pizza con Prosciutto (P520) and the Pasta al Arrabiata (P285). Service was quick, my order was served in less than 15 minutes. The pizza crust had that smokey taste and fluffy texture, the overall taste was nonetheless ordinary.

The arrabiata was generously topped with crispy bacon while the sauce had a very well balanced spiciness. Just like in their Baguio branch, you need to pay P50 for an extra sprinkle of Parmesan cheese to your pasta, which I find really strange especially for an establishment claiming to be an Italian restaurant.

Food quality was fairly good but not impressive enough to rave about. The restaurant is located in front of Kapitolyo Church so make sure that you make prior reservation when you plan to dine at Amare La Cucina on a Sunday. Parking is very limited.

Service on the other had was excellent. The staff was very attentive. They took my order accurately. I got the bill within only five minutes after I had asked for it. Having said all these, I would probably eat here again if I find myself in Kapitolyo and craving for pizza, but I won't go all the way to Kapitolyo just to eat here.
