Tayum is a municipality located in the center of the Province of Abra, Philippines. Tayum was named after the tayum-tayum plant, a local indigo plant used to dye cotton fabrics. Tayum was formally established in 1725 with the poblacion (administrative center) located along the banks of Abra River.
