Fête de la Musique 2017 (Philippines)

What began in Paris in 1982 as a summertime musical event is now a global musical festival taking place in more than 120 countries around the world. Now celebrating its 23rd year anniversary in the Philippines, Fête de la Musique will once again treat Filipino music lovers to nights of free concerts and live performances featuring amateur and professional musicians.

In a media event hosted by Novotel Manila Araneta Center, the Embassy of France in the Philippines and the Alliance Française de Manille announced that 2017 is a special year for Fête de la Musique in the Philippines. In addition to Makati and Manila, Fête de la Musique will debut this year in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan and in Baguio City, Cordillera. The organizers added that they plan to bring Fête de la Musique to more cities outside Manila in the future.

To give the media a taste of what to expect in this year's Fête de la Musique in the Philippines, the Alliance Française de Manille has brought in French electronic band Encore who performed during the pre-launch event at Novotel Manila Araneta Center. The organizers also announced the cancellation of the June 17 Makati Main Stage events taking place at A-Venue and Greenbelt 3 Park due to security and safety considerations. All June 17 Makati and Manila Pocket Stage events will however push through as scheduled.

In case you miss the first run of Fête de la Musique, you can still attend the June 23 Intramuros Main Stage event taking place at the Puerta Real Gardens in Intramuros, Manila while the BGC crowd can join the June 23 Pocket Stage event at Arya Residences, The Fort. Venue of the June 24 Palawan Main Stage event will be at the Copy Park Provincial Capitol Complex while the June 24 Baguio Main Stage event will take place at Malcolm Square, Baguio City.
